The world of human culture is rich and diverse. This diversity provides harmonization and organic co-existence of folks and original communities. Cultural pluralism is linked with democratization of societies. It creates environment for cultural exchange and expands opportunities. It guarantees freedom to express opinions, plurality of mass media, multilingual approaches, equal access to artistic, technical, and scientific knowledge, including digital one.

Using digital technology, Internet is one of the most efficient tools to optimize environment. It has huge communicative potential – interactivity. It allows to write and to think without frameworks of national context.

This feature of communication channel has a number of advantages, as compared to traditional ones. They are the following:

a)      incredible simplicity and accessibility;

b)      combination of textual information and other multimedia elements;

c)      diverse opportunities to interchange various information (discussions, conferences, etc.);

d)      integral nature of informational source. Opportunity to pass through various informational sources.

Accumulating unlimited opportunities, the net initiated creation of new type scientific magazines. It was combination of traditional magazines with net access. This environment significantly extents traditional function of scientific and specific magazines, but do not change it. They became the guarantors of equal access to informational resources. Analyses of existing international informational e-magazines revealed the following:

-         data is centralized and updated at server’s dislocation;

-         target audience could see the most actual sites (according to choice and interest) from own computers, without cost for distribution;

-         authors – participants of international on-line magazines could actively interchange and easily re-address their publications through integrated system of e-mail.

Scientific, cultural, and other e-magazines represent significant quantity of western European countries in Internet. Unfortunately, Trans-Caucasian, Middle Asian, Russian, and Mongolian musicologist communities did not initiate e-edition of multimedia magazine till the moment. Thereby, they deprived themselves of opportunity to consolidate their efforts for democratization, search to preserve national property, integration to the world sources.

To allocate the magazine in Internet space would fill up existing vacuum. It would assist to expand informational field in the net. Moreover, according to preliminary opinion of future international editorial staff, magazine name “Harmony” entirely meets project’s idea. The essence of this idea is to dialectically unite opposite views, opinions, and scientific hypothesis. Its humanity and tolerant approach would make a bridge of mutual understanding, partnership, and create organic composition: Harmony – Humanity.

Purpose of the magazine: to consolidate efforts of scientists, experts in humanitarian knowledge, and to create Internet community to carry out Human Rights for free access to information.

 Tasks of the magazine:

·        To provide free access to entire texts of scientific, musical, cultural and educational edition with relevant search system and cross-references;

·        To publish current and archive documents, results of scientific researches and ideas, available in free access of the Net, on agreement with authors;

·        To form net-community of scientists as social category of equal rights society;

·        To increase significantly access and utility of scientific and educational literature, to increase scientific productivity, to catalyze interdisciplinary integration of communities, knowledge and ideas in the humanities (musicology, cultural and religious sciences, etc.);

·        To develop and make accessible new technologies to create e-magazines;

·        To consider great potential in dissemination process, not only for participants-countries, but for whole Net-space;

·        To initiate boundless opportunities of self-realization, considering Human rights specifies in Article 27 of Human Rights Declaration, and articles 13 and 15 of International Pact on economic, social, and cultural rights.

·        To create convenient and cheep net-edition, with possibility to load texts from Net;

·        To facilitate creative and publishing activity related to paperless information;

 

Themes of the magazine

The magazine would include the following headings:
1. Heritage articles devoted to preserve cultural heritage and impart it to future generation
2. Actual Problems of Musicology - articles devoted to methodology and modern methods to analyze music, innovation processes and technologies, related to music culture and culture in total.
3. Source Study articles, comments and interpreting of musical literature monuments, translation of original texts.
4. Computed Technologies in Culture articles devoted to analyze software for Net culture and Arts.
5. Religion and Music articles on music significance in various religions.
6. Ethnomusicology researches and problems of traditional music in its variety.
7. International News on music life of countries-participants with following sections:
a. Creative Activity (biographies of composers, scientists, cultural figures)
b. Mastery (reviews of concerts, festivals, competitions)
c. Bibliography, Discography  (annotations for printing editions)
Note: the headings could be changed in edition process, taking into account opinions of International Editorial Board.

Submission of articles

Authors should send their articles to international magazine “Harmony” by e-mail to editorial office (info@musigi-dunya.az). Articles could be submitted by international editorial staff or initiated by the author himself. Editorial staff entertains both original, previously published articles, and new ones. Articles could be written in Russian or English. Submitted articles could be supplied with hypertexts, including audio, video, and photo files that could not be included into traditional print.

 

Textual part of the article should be submitted in WORD program and contain the following:

1. Full name of the author;
2. Company, occupations, degrees and academic status;
3. Contact telephone, fax (with code), e-mail;
4. Text should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt, and interval – single.

Pictures and graphs should be submitted as separate files. Formats JPG and PDF are allowed.

Delivery: Articles could be delivered either directly to editorial office (files on floppy dicks) or by e-mail.

Reviewing and publication: Editorial Council would review and discuss received articles according to mandatory order. This process is confidential. Articles accepted to publication would be placed at WEB-server of the magazine in next issue.

Copyrights: Submitting their articles, authors give their consent for publication in “Harmony” magazine. All e-documents, issued in the magazine are protected by legislation. All copyrights are preserved.

Authors should independently control their wrights for reproduction or translation of articles, published in the magazine. Any changes, additions, copying of articles’ fragment are allowed only for scientific researches, but not for commercial purposes. Reproduction of articles in other editions, whether printed or electron ones, should be agreed with authors of original publications.

Musical, cultural magazine “Harmony” is e-edition. It is protected by copyrights and guaranteed by the Azerbaijan Republic Law “On Copyrights and Adjacent Rights”.
